Rock County Health Department in Wisconsin victim of cyberattack

Officials in Rock County, Wisconsin have confirmed to Recorded Future News that they experienced a cyberattack on September 29:

“Since some systems are not yet fully operational, this may temporarily impact certain County operations. However, the public should experience minimal service disruption at this time. We are investigating the full nature and scope of this event, as well as its impact to any data in our systems.”

A listing on the Cuba ransomware gang’s leak site claims the types of files acquired include: Financial documents, correspondence with bank employees, account movements, balance sheets, tax documents, compensation, source code. Image: DataBreaches.net.

The Cuba ransomware gang is not associated with the country of Cuba and is believed to be Russian.
