TVP World reports:
Russian hackers have claimed responsibility for carrying out a cyberattack on Croatia’s largest hospital.
They demanded that the facility’s authorities pay a ransom by July 18, Serbian website Danas reported on Monday.
The Zagreb teaching hospital was hacked last Thursday by the Russian LockBit 3.0 virus, used to steal data that enables hackers to demand a ransom.
Croatian investigators and cybersecurity company HackManac confirmed that a Russian group was responsible.

Comment:
Although LockBit has been linked to Russians, it may be helpful to remember that LockBit has affiliates from many countries, including the U.S. and Canada. Was this attack by Russians who are politically motivated, or was this another soul-less attack for financial reasons? Either way, attacking a hospital is morally bankrupt.
