A Stony Brook University college student has been charged with first-degree identity theft after police arrested him Monday.
They allege that Oluwole Owoseni, 22, of Brooklyn, stole the personal information of other students to apply for a student loan and credit card.
Owoseni worked at the campus Career Center and the Student Affairs office.
The investigation indicates that the security of the school’s student database was not breached and the number of students affected is very small.
