Amy Leigh Womack reports that Bridgette Williams of Macon, Georgia pleaded guilty last week in federal court to charges she stole identities of blood plasma donors while employed at BioMat USA. Womack and her co-conspirators submitted fraudulent tax returns to the tune of $191,000. According to The Telegraph, she stole more than 130 patients’ identities between January 2012 and June 19, 2012:
Williams has admitted that she delivered 86 identities — including names, birthdays and social security numbers — to a conspirator in exchange for $400, according to the agreement.
In March 2012, a man allegedly involved in the conspiracy gave her a camera to photograph patient profiles. She then gave him the camera. On another occasion, Williams allowed the man into the file room and allowed him to copy and photograph clients’ files, according to the agreement.
