A 33-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, who once lived in Lawrence, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for an identity theft scheme in Lawrence and the Kansas City area that totaled more than $78,000.
William A. Morris had pleaded guilty in September to one count of aggravated identity theft and one count of wire fraud in connection with stealing Social Security numbers and credit card numbers from customers of an Oklahoma-based satellite dish service company he started in 2007.
