The provincial government says it is taking measures to address the inappropriate access of confidential information at the Motor Registration Division by a government employee.
According to a news release, in late October, the division became aware a government employee may have inappropriately accessed personal information pertaining to drivers’ licence and vehicle registration information. The investigation has found the employee — who normally has access to such records — accessed files of individuals without a justifiable work purpose. The investigation is continuing.
