TheCityPaper reports that Steven K. Gilmore, a former child support worker, was arrested after attempting to sell the personal information — including names, Social Security numbers and bank account numbers — of 1,600 people.
Gilmore had been employed by Policy Studies, Inc., a private company that contracts with the Tennessee Department of Human Services to provide child support services for Davidson County. Through his work, Gilmore allegedly had access to personal identification information.
Gilmore was caught when he attempted to sell the information to a law enforcement official.
