Update: Erin Edgemon has this update:
An apparent breach of the state Legislature’s email server was contained within 30 minutes of discovery, according to reports.
Secretary of the Senate Pat Harris told the Montgomery Advertiser the virus originated from a server in India. The server was shut down and the virus contained.
It doesn’t appear that any other state agencies were affected, and it doesn’t appear that attachments containing the virus were opened.
