A Gatineau police officer has been fired after she pleaded guilty in April to illegally accessing police databases to look up personal information on three people following a falling out with a friend.
Const. Chantal Lacroix was a 22-year veteran with the Gatineau Police Service, which confirmed her dismissal Wednesday.
Police opened an investigation in 2014 following allegations she accessed the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) and Versadex databases six times to look up three indivduals between Aug. 5, 2013 and Feb. 24, 2014. The databases contain information about criminal background checks and calls for service to private addresses.
