A man has been charged and arrested after authorities said he hacked into the Guthrie Police Department’s confidential computer system.
On Sept. 7, police obtained a warrant to search 19-year-old Jared Joslin’s home, where officers discovered several police radios and handheld devices that were stolen from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office within the past year. According to a probable cause affidavit, Joslin used his personal cellphone and laptop in late August to create an email identifying himself as the Guthrie fire chief. With that email, he was able to send a message to the Department of Public Safety to request that the stolen radios be activated.
