Paperless patients

A patient walks into a doctor’s office for the first time and immediately is handed a clipboard holding a form asking for all sorts of information on that person’s health status and medical history.

NoMoreClipboard.com, a Fort Wayne medical technology startup, hopes to tap into consumers’ frustration with all that medical paperwork to become a player in the fragmented and competitive market of personal health records.

The company provides a secure Web site, nomoreclipboard.com, for consumers to create and update personal health records for themselves or family members such as dependent children or aging parents. That information then can be faxed or sent electronically to physician offices and hospitals.

The personal health record is something patients create and control, according to Doug Horner, co-founder and chief technology officer of NoMoreClipBoard.com.

“What you maintain in your record in NoMoreClipboard.com is your version.”

Consumers can create a free record at NoMoreClipboard.com that includes emergency contacts, information about allergies, medications they’re taking, past illness and accident history.

Your NoMoreClipboard.com record is protected with your personal username and password, and is not accessible to anyone without your knowledge.

Our site uses the same type of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) account security used by major retailers and financial institutions. NoMoreClipboard.com site security is approved by VerisignTM, the dominant certificate authority on the World Wide Web. The only users who will have access to your record are you and the physicians with whom you choose to share your information. NoMoreClipboard.com will never share any of your personal information without your expressed permission.
