Shore News Today in New Jersey reports:
An Absecon woman was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 2 for allegedly accessing someone’s medical records on the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center computer network, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel.
Mildred Zamot, 30, accessed the records May 14 while she was working at Atlantic Gastroenterology Associates in Egg Harbor Township, Housel said.
The victim was not a patient of Atlantic Gastroenterology Associates, and Zamot was terminated from her position prior to her arrest, he said.
Authorities said only one victim’s identity appeared to be compromised and that it was not accessed for financial gain.
