A consequence of medical identity may be that you lose your health insurance. Gahanna News in Ohio reports:
A Gahanna resident who lives in the 1200 block of North Hamilton Road said someone has been using her identity to obtain credit cards since April 20.
The victim said she first suspected fraud when someone received a type of cancer treatment using her identity.
Her health insurance company dropped her for not reporting a pre-existing condition.
After investigating further, she discovered credit cards have been applied for an approved in her name.
She was not told which cards, the amounts or the dates they were used, an officer said.
