Two EMTs working for the City of Casa Grande took “inappropriate and salacious” photos of a woman suffering a grand mal seizure and published them with “offensive comments,” the woman claims in Pinal County Court, Ariz.
A copy of the complaint is available on their site, here. The suit names the City of Casa Grande as well as the two EMTs. L.S. alleges that the firefighters responded to a medical emergency she experienced (grand mal seizure) and that while unconscious and being transported to the hospital by the fire department, the two took pictures of her breasts and published those photos with offensive comments. There is no indication in the complaint as to where the photos were published. Of course, a complaint is just allegations that have yet to be proven, but
I wonder whether the plaintiff also filed a HIPAA complaint.
