A gang that used card readers to skim personal information at gas station card readers in Northern California was busted for identity theft, and two of the four were sentenced to prison Tuesday for the scheme that snared more than 200 victims.
David Karapetyan, 32, pleaded guilty to 37 felonies and got a seven-year sentence and Zhirayr Zamanyan, 31, pleaded guilty to five felonies and got a five-year sentence in Contra Costa County Superior Court in Martinez.
Two more defendants, Edwin Hamazaspyan, 31, and Naum Mints, 21, are scheduled to appear in court Feb. 15.
