Mike Rosenberg reports:
The Tech, the popular downtown San Jose museum, said Wednesday that a hacker broke into three old files lingering on its system. The thief captured museum members’ names, email addresses, home addresses and phone numbers and posted them to Twitter on Friday before the information was taken down.
Museum spokesman Roqua Montez said the information belonged to as many as 800 people who created an account on the museum website, including those who had signed up for museum membership events in 2006 and nominees for the museum’s tech awards in 2009.

wow,
3 old files… don’t htey do audits?
I wonder if they updated the system after 2009 ?
Yes, we did update the system after 2009. The files they hacked were simply old data lists, which we failed to remove. We have since fixed this problem of old data on our servers.
