National Seating and Mobility notified the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office on June 12 of an incident that occurred on April 14, 2015 when two laptops, a smartphone, a backpack, and a briefcase were stolen from two employees’ locked work vans in Atlanta, Georgia. The incidents were immediately reported to the police and NSM was able to remotely wipe the smartphone, but some patient information was stolen including electronic files or documents that contained the patients’ names, dates of birth, addresses, and details of their medical conditions or treatments requiring the use of mobility devices.
Those affected were offered free credit monitoring services. As of the time of the report to NH, the firm had no indication that any information had been misused.
