MI: Farmington Hills mother admits stealing private personal records

Posted on January 8, 2016 by Dissent

Kevin Dietz has an update on an identity theft fraud case that I’ve noted previously on this site.  Now Markitta Washington has admitted to stealing patient information as part of the  tax refund fraud scheme.

Washington, who according to court records took a job at two hospitals — the DMC’s Harper Hospital in Detroit and Henry Ford Hospital in West Bloomfield — in addition to taking home a pretty good pay check she was taking home patents’ registration information she stole from computer files, which included names, addresses, birth dates and Social Security numbers.

Here’s the real chutzpah part: Washington asked the court to delay her 4-year prison sentence so she can be home with the kids while her husband serves his prison sentence for his part in the crime.

Yeah, let’s nominate her for mother of the year…
