Fujitsu has confirmed that data being marketed by cybercriminals is not related to any cyberattack on its systems.
Criminal marketplace Marketo claimed to have 4GB of data from Fujitsu last month and began marketing it widely.

Marketo has also changed its tune, now writing that the stolen data is entirely from Japanese manufacturing giant Toray Industries.

This happens more often than the public may realize, which is why it is so unhelpful when Twitter accounts or individuals just uncritically announce victims of breaches without investigating to confirm that they really were the victim — or to at least make clear that a claimed breach has not been confirmed.
