There’s an update to a 2019 data breach involving Aeries Software that impacted more than 150 school districts.
Top Class Actions reports that Aeries has agreed to pay $1.75 million to resolve claims that the breach compromised personal information of San Dieguito Union High School students.
The case is Gupta, et al. v. Aeries Software Inc., Case No. 8:20-cv-00995-FMO-ADS in the District Court for the Central District of California.

Given how many districts were affected, DataBreaches was curious as to why this case hadn’t been consolidated with any other lawsuits against Aeries Software stemming from this breach. A PACER search with “Aeries Software” as the defendant produced a somewhat surprising result: the Gupta case was the only case in any federal court with Aeries Software as a defendant.
