On September 20, DataBreaches published a post about an alleged hack of Ask.FM data from what was described as a March, 2020 hack. Ask.FM had not replied to this site’s inquiries by the time of publication. Ask.FM replied today and reminded me that they had addressed this same claimed hack in December 2021 when this site contacted them.
It may be the most — or one of the most — stunning memory failures of my life. I had no recollection of ever contacting them about any hack until I received their email today and discovered that there was a draft post in Drafts for this blog that I had never published.
At this point, then, DataBreaches considers the Ask.FM claims as disputed and apologizes to Ask.FM for not remembering last year’s correspondence.
