Looks like Karakurt is back… (Update 1)

Posted on April 12, 2023 by Dissent

And they have added two medical entities to their leak site today — Medicalodges in Kansas and Petaluma Health Center in California. They provide no proof for either claim, and neither entity has any notice on their respective sites about any incident, so for now, these are unconfirmed claims.

Update 1: DataBreaches received a statement from Pamela L. Smith, General Counsel, Vice President of Corporate Compliance for Medicalodges, that confirms they experienced an incident:

Medicalodges is investigating a recent cyber-incident that has impacted our organization. Immediately upon learning of the incident, our team acted quickly to investigate and secure our systems. We have engaged external cybersecurity experts to assist in our investigation and response efforts.

Our investigation is ongoing and we will share additional information as appropriate.
