It was not the type of password reset Patty Oglivie-Evans was expecting when she reset her Credit Union MasterCard password Wednesday morning.
Oglivie-Evans was having trouble logging into her account and when she decided to reset her password, she ended up seeing another persons’ account history.

That information included yearly salary, telephone number, home address and work address.

MasterCard says the problem lies with Credit Union.
“This sounds like an issue with the Credit Union’s website,” said Tony Maraschiello, Director of Communications and Government Relations for MasterCard. “MasterCard does not store any personal cardholder information.”
MBNA Canada Bank says there was an issue affecting Credit Union cardholders.
“Certain CHOICE REWARDS cardholders were presented with an error message when trying to log onto the online banking site,” said Cathy Velazquez, Senior Vice-President of Communications for MNBA. “If the customer then selected the back button, they may have gained access to a different customer’s account information.”
