Under fire Health Service Executive (HSE) chiefs were staring at yet another embarrassing controversy last night after private records were stolen in Longford.
The Leader has learned the private documents were stolen from a District Health Nurse’s car last Friday afternoon.
The records were concealed inside a handbag which was stolen from a car in Co Longford between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
HSE officials confirmed an internal review had been launched but rejected assertions of a data protection breach. Gardai are also understood to be investigating the incident
