British teenager, 18, denies creating computer virus that crashed hundreds of institutions when he was just 14

A teenager today denied creating a computer virus which allegedly ‘crashed hundreds of financial institutions across the world when he was just 14 years old.

Josh Maunder, now 18, from Abbey Park in Bangor, Co Down in Northern Ireland, entered not guilty pleas to each of the 21 charges against him.

The teen is charged with 13 counts of carrying out an unauthorised act impairing the operation of a computer, two counts each of making an article intending it to be used for computer misuse, obtaining an article to commit an offence and possessing articles in connection with fraud.
